Well, I’ve more or less finished my 40 Night gobbos. Man, 40 of anything is a rather dating task. If it wasn’t for my podcasts and Dark Tower audio books, I don’t think I could have finished these.
I suppose I shouldn’t say “finished”, per say. I still need to do some gold on some belts, snow flock and some standard bearer work. Another day….
Oh hell, I just looked at my updated army list and realized I need 10 more.

A first and final Forward on the subject…
Hello! Welcome to the first of what will hopefully be many How to… segments in Warhammer Fantasy. As a relatively new player (1 year), it’s an often daunting task to not only get into the game but to take on the hobby. New players could take the simple 3 step process and learn more later, OR they could (like myself) take as much pride in the hobby as possible in order to fulfill it’s worth.
It’s no secret that Warhammer can be a very pricey hobby, but is it any more expensive than a $400 console plus +20 games at $65 a pop? Or even a high-end gaming PC which can range anywhere from $600-$4000 depending on if you’re building or purchasing from a manufacturer.
SO! With that being said, let’s get down to the first How to… entry!
===========HOW TO…Base your models===========
Today I will be covering the basics of how to base your models! Depending on your army and even your theme, your basing made range widely not only from this army but others as well. For example, I decided to base my O&G army in the far North Mountains. Thus I will be using a dark rock and snow flock.
Materials

Squirt some glue into your tray and add a few drops of water to help thin it out. Give it a good mix. Make sure it's not so thin that it will literally run off the base but make sure it's not super thick.

Make sure you cover ALL of the top of the base but be careful not to get any on your models shoes. If you do, take another wet brush and gently wipe it off.

BAM! You have officially based your model! Give your model at least 15 minute before you start painting or adding different basing. You want to make sure that the current material settles in nicely.

If you want the snow build up a little higher, continue to re-apply glue and dip until the preferred height and visual effect is achieved.
Congratualtions! You have have based your models! Now get to painting! :D

Started working on my Black Orcs of the North today. I haven’t given them a true Orc name but I have a few ideas.
Like my night goblins (which I will be finishing soon. More WIP photos coming soon as well),my Orcs will reign from somewhere in the North and will carry a snow and Ice theme. I figure once I’m further into the painting process, I’ll do a little fan fiction lore write up on the army.
With that being said, I have some cool ideas for my icy goblin wolf chariots

THE DECISION HAS BEEN MADE!
Yes, it’s true, I have decided on white spears! Which was ultimately a blessing (though a pain in the ass to paint. Go to hell skull white) because it has inspired me to create a white banner with a blue moon. Perhaps a subtle nod in homage to one of my particular beers? Hmmmmmmm…..hmmm….*strokes long white Pai Mei Fu Manchu*
In addition, I added magnets to the tray and units! Hooray!
Anywho, there is still heaps of work to do (including endless amounts touch up) on these little gitz. Forty gobbos…is alot.
More to come!
I am at an impasse. I am 16 red spears in and not satisfied. Tha Silva Bootz Trybe is to use blues, silvers, blacks and whites and these damned red spears are messing everything up!
I tried a Mordian blue but it blended too much with blue in the robes.
I really like the Skull White but I find it’s pigment is a pain in the ass to work with and I’m terrible at thinning it.
I’m going to have to make a decision soon.
*grumble grumble*

Not bad for a half days work. Will finish these little buggers tomorrow.
I’ll probably tackle these chaps on wed.
I’m rather determined to finish my other gobbos. Especially since I gave myself a deadline of tomorrow night. Gulp!
